I am currently on leave from the IT University
of Copenhagen, and from aug. 2006 - aug. 2007 working as Associate Research Professor at the Center for Design Research Copenhagen, an independant center situated at the School of Architecture. During this year, I will be working on a book about the development of aesthetics, design and interaction on the WWW, together with colleague Ida Engholm.
My blog often reflects how busy I am in general, so posting may be pretty irregular, as well as my potential response to comments. But I read them!

Working on full paper for DAC 2007 (due today!)
(hint: look at my delicious tags if you want to see what Im writing about)
Should do something about bookchapter 3 for our book before March 9th
Waiting on around 20 reviewer's comments on articles submitted to Gamestudies, reminders need to go out next week /several reviews in now
Need to write short paper proposal for MobileHCI (deadline not before April 1st, yeah!)
Need to do sincere revision of article for Journal of Virtual Reality and Broadcasting (still due March 5th)
Draft for research/industry cooperation project circulated, meeting called
Article for WoW-anthology completed and sent (feb 21)
Article for Danish Ministry of Cultures Cultural Heritage Board publication on digital communication & web 2.0 completed and proofed, last proof needed? (proof sent feb 15)
Article for Proceedings of the Virtual 2006 conference completed and sent, need to do formatting and final revision (sent feb 7)
Book review for New Media and Society done last yearwas supposed to publish this month, still waiting for editor's comment. Update: is actually published in the February issue.

all walls, ceilings and skirting boards in new apartment painted
all floors except kitchen and bathroom lacquered by hired handywoman
all of apartment moved, all books unpacked and in place in new apartment
two gas cookers switched around and installed by certified handyman
heating system upgraded, by ceritified handyman, not-functioning general heating system fixed by other certified handyman
electricity updated, light fixtures in ceilings work now, illegal cabling replaced by legal cabling, by certified handyman
kitchen floor completed and dishwasher installed, by hired handyman (kitchen functions, yeah!)

Oh my god. And I thought *I* was busy.
Right now I'm anxious because next week is winter holidays and ALL THE OTHER GIRLS in my ten-year-old's class are going to the mountains and I'm the only mean mother going to stay in town and not just work but finish that damned DAC essay. Poor child. I'll have to teach her to take the bus to my office on her own.

Heh Jill, it's just one of the times of year where everything comes together. - I wouldnt be able to work like I do, if I had a kid, I have A LOT of respect for all those of my female colleagues (including you) - and male, as well btw! - who've got kids in school, kindergarten etc and nevertheless manages to pursue an academic career and even finish all those damn papers on time!
